Bélonie Homestead

Located at the crossroads of the French regions of Périgord, Quercy and Limousin, the Bélonie Homestead is a magnificent gîte of immense character set in an old 18th century Quercy farmhouse that has recently been restored with deference to traditional style and the environment.

The gîte is located in a peaceful little hamlet, surrounded by beautiful woodlands and meadows between Sarlat, Rocamadour and Collonges-la-Rouge. It would be ideal for either a large family or group of friends.

It offers a combination of old-fashioned charm (exposed stonework and beams, fireplaces, antique furniture, coarse lime rendering, etc.) with modern-day comforts (air conditioning, modern household appliances, luxury bedding and insulation).

This extensive gîte covering some 260 square meters has been designed for you, the guest, to make the most of your stay and take home wonderful memories of your time here. Thanks to its flexible configuration, the gîte can accommodate up to 9 people.

The floor plan comprises an extremely spacious living area, games room, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, three toilets and 20,000 square metres of grounds.

Entrance hall

The entrance hall leads to the cellar-laundry (7kg washing machine, 7kg tumble-dryer, multi air flow fridge/freezer, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, storage space, cleaning products) and a spacious powder room.

Living area

Huge living area, measuring around 75 square metres, featuring an intimate lounge area with fireplace and adjacent dining area with a second fireplace. The convivial modern kitchen in waxed concrete is the nucleus of the house. Fully equipped with stainless steel appliances (energy ratings A or A+): glass-ceramic cooktop, extractor hood, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee machine, toaster, food processor.
Eco-friendly household cleaning products are provided.

First Floor

Master Bedroom - « Chambre Maïs »

Light-filled bedroom overlooking the grounds, furnished with a double bed (140 cm), chest of drawers and a wardrobe. It also has a private bathroom (walk-in shower, washbasin, towel dryer).

Second Bedroom - « Chambre Demoiselles »

This bedroom has a double aspect (to east and west). It is furnished with 2 three-quarter size beds (120 cm) and has a dressing room. The original chestnut wood flooring and ceiling have been retained.

All new and quality bedding. Toilet on this floor.

Second floor

Pigeon-loft Bedroom - « Chambre Pigeonnier »

This 30 m2 bedroom, which draws its light through 4 character windows or « fenestrous », occupies the old pigeon loft from which it has inherited a rare and unique charm. It has been furnished in the style of the 1940's, with a king-size bed (160cm), chest of drawers and pedestal table.

Games Room

This generous space is entirely devoted to games activities. Here you can take advantage of the games table, desk, a trunk full of board games, colour television with video recorder and DVD player, video library, radio/CD player and a library of reading material (novels, children's books, magazines, books on ecological homes, etc.).

Attic Bedroom - « Chambre mansardée »

Children love this large air-conditioned bedroom off the games room. It is equipped with a colour TV, storage space and 2 single beds (90cm).


This bathroom features a shower (with shower seat), towel dryer, storage spaces and a hair dryer.

Those rooms are fully air-conditioned. All new and quality bedding. Toilet on this floor.


The ground

Surrounded by woodland and dry-stone walls, the landscaped grounds (20,000 m2 of which are accessible within a total area extending over 7ha) are fully enclosed and comprise:

Dry-stone walls have been reinstated around the buildings to separate the grounds (traditional rural landscape, mown once a year) from the garden attached to the house (which is mown on a regular basis).

Outdoor entertaining areas

The semi-shaded patio area, located within the inner courtyard, affords protection from the wind and is sheltered from view. This area has separate view of the grounds.

A second patio area, on the south-facing side, enjoys the early morning sun. A perfect spot for breakfast!

A third patio area (equipped with water, lighting and wall sockets) is located in the old barn opposite the sun deck. So when it comes to eating outside, guests have a range of settings to choose from.

Barbecue, patio furniture, chairs, sunshade and games are all provided.
